Our Team
Charles King, CEO
Charles King is an experienced construction professional with a diverse background in commercial roofing, building restoration, waterproofing, and industrial coatings. As the CEO of Whiting Roofing, LLC, he manages all aspects of business operations, focusing on commercial roofing. Charles demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, successfully growing the company’s revenue and expanding its client base.
From 2013 to 2022, Charles owned and operated SE Waterproofing and Coatings, further expanding his expertise in the field. During this time, he continued to demonstrate his strong leadership and business management skills, overseeing numerous successful projects and maintaining a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction.
From 2008 to 2013, Charles owned and operated Charles King Construction, LLC, specializing on commercial building restoration and subcontracting work for notable clients like Wood Partners. Under his leadership, Charles King Construction, LLC became known for its high-quality workmanship and reliable service. Charles was instrumental in building and leading a cohesive team of skilled professionals, fostering a collaborative work environment that emphasized safety, efficiency, and excellence. His ability to inspire and motivate his team was key to the company’s success and reputation in the industry.
Before founding his own companies, Charles served as a Supervisor at well-known Industrial Coating Company from 2006 to 2008, where he specialized in plural component materials and supervised significant projects in local theme parks and the space center. His earlier experience includes subcontracting roles with Collis Roofing and Cambridge Homes, where he managed various roofing and framing projects.
Charles began his career in the family-owned construction crew, gaining hands-on experience in framing new homes for builders such as Lennar, Centex, and Cambridge Homes. He holds both a Florida Building License and a Florida Roofing License, and his skills include project management, commercial building restoration, waterproofing, industrial coatings, and business management.
Carrie Gunnerson, CFO
Carrie Gunnerson is a seasoned financial executive with extensive experience in leading financial operations and overseeing operations. She currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Whiting Roofing, where she is responsible for managing the company’s financial planning, accounting, and treasury functions.
Before joining Whiting Roofing, Carrie was the Chief Financial Officer at Twin Vee PowerCats Co., where she oversaw accounting, financial planning, and inventory management processes. Her career also includes a significant tenure at Art’s Way Manufacturing Co., Inc., where she held various leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer. At Art’s Way, she directed audits, managed SEC and Nasdaq filings, and developed budgeting and forecasting processes.
Our roofing team, led by Operations Manager Sam Hazel, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to every project. With years of hands-on experience in the industry, Sam ensures that our team consistently delivers top-notch quality and craftsmanship.
